- Brush your hair out so it will be easier to work with.
- Bump the top (If you have to you can tease your hair to give it more volume) by getting rid of your part and gather your the top of your hair to the crown of your head. Twist the ends of it in the direction you want the twist to go and push up until you reach your desired volume. Then you want to pin that in place.
- Gathering the side the twist isn't on, and pull it to the middle of your head and bobby pin it down.
- With the hair on the left (or the side you are twisting) take a small section of hair and arrange it in a "curved fashion" just like how you would see in a french twist. Make sure that the top one covers up any bobby pins that you have, and then pin it in place.
- Continue taking 1-2 inch sections and curve them around the hair you've already done and pin the section down. Continue doing that until you have all the hair around your ear curved around in that "twist like fashion."
- With the remaining hair that is from your under your ear you want to split that into two sections (a top one and a bottom one)
- Twist the top section and create a small bun and pin that against your head.
- Take the bottom section and twist/curve it over the bun and pin it down.
- Pin down any hairs that are sticking out and arrange the sections so there aren't any gaps between them. If you have bangs or side bangs, get your hairspray and spray your hair back in place.
- There you have a french twist!!!
Bonus*** Half up french twist
- Brush your hair out so it's easier to work with.
- Gather the front of your hair on to the crown of your head.
- Now we are going to bump the hair up. Like before, we are going to twist the ends of the hair you gathered and push up until your desired volume. Pin it into place.
- Take a section of hair from the twisting side and wrap it over the hair that we had above the bump. Pin it in place under the hair under the bump so its nicely hidden.
- If you have side bangs arrange them back and if you want you can pin them in place and hide it behind the section you've already pulled back.
- There you you have a half up french twist.
